Angels
God’s Messengers

As a man of God, I have always found the subject of angels very interesting to say the least. What do we know about them. The Bible tells us that there is an innumerable amount in heaven. In Revelations 5:11-12 the Apostle John said {In my vision, I heard the sound of an immense number of angels gathered round the throne and the living creatures and the elders; there were ten thousand times ten thousand of them and thousands upon thousands, loudly chanting: Worthy is the Lamb that was sacrificed to receive power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory and blessing}. I read a book once called [BILLY GRAHAM ANGELS]. In it I found some interesting stories I want to share with you my readers. The first one is called.
   Help From Angels
A celebrated Philadelphia neurologist had gone to bed after an exceptionally tiring day. Suddenly he was awakened by someone knocking on his door. Opening it he found a little girl, poorly dressed and deeply upset. She told him her mother was very sick and asked him if he would please come with her. It was a bitterly cold, snowy night, but though he was bone tired, the doctor dressed and followed the girl. As the Reader’s  Digest reports the story, he found the mother desperately ill with pneumonia. After arranging for medical care, he complemented the sick woman on the intelligence and persistence of her little daughter. The woman looked at him strangely and then said, My daughter died a month ago. She added, Her shoes and coat are in the clothes closet there. Amazed and perplexed, the doctor went to the closet and opened the door. There hung the very coat worn by the little girl who had brought him to tend to her mother. It was warm and dry and could not possible have been out in the wintry night. Could the doctor have been called in the hour of desperate need by an angel who appeared as this woman’s young daughter? Was this the work of God’s angels on behalf of the sick woman? The Reverend John
G. Paton, Pioneer missionary in the New Hebrides Islands, told a thrilling story involving the protective care of angels. Hostile natives surrounded his mission headquarters one might, intent on burning the Patons out and killing them. John Paton and his wife prayed all during that terror-filled night that God would deliver them. When daylight came they were amazed to see that, unaccountably, the attackers had left. They thanked God for delivering them. A year latter the chief of the tribe was converted to Jesus Christ, and Mr. Paton, remembering what had happened, asked the chief what had kept him and his men from burning down the house and killing them. The Chief replied in surprise, Who were all those men you had with you there? The missionary answered, There were no men there, just my wife and I. The Chief argued that they had seen many men standing guard-hundreds of big men in shining garments with drawn swords in their hands. They seemed to circle the mission station so that the natives were afraid to attack. Only then did Mr. Paton realize that God had sent His angels to protect them. The chief agreed that there was no other explanation. Could it be that God had sent a legion of angels to protect His servants, whose lives were being endangered? It is unclear to me why God chooses to save some and let others perish, I just know that He knows best and I trust Him fully. How many names of angels are there? I only know of seven named angels,[ Gabriel-Haniel-Michael-Raphal-Raquel-Saiel-Uriel. The Bible always says that they are stronger than us. In 2 Samuel 24:16 says that just one angel was needed to destroy Jerusalem. { But as the death angel was preparing to destroy Jerusalem, the Lord was sorry for what was happening and told him to stop. He was by the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite at the time}. The Bible always says that they stand before the throne of God and see his face. In Luke 1:19 the angel Gabriel said to  Zacharias  {I am Gabriel! I stand in the very presence of God. It was he who sent me to you with this good news!} and in Matthew 18:10 says {Don't treat one of these little ones as if they were not important. I tell you, their angels in heaven are always looking at my heavenly Father's face}. Revelation 21:12  also says  she had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, It is also very interesting what the Bible teaches about your own free will after you are in heaven. In Revelation 12:7 the Bible says that one third of the angels rebelled against God  { There was a war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon. The dragon and his angels fought back. But the dragon was not strong enough. There was no place left for the dragon and his angels in heaven anymore. The large dragon was thrown out. (This is the old snake who is the same as the one called the Devil, Satan. He is the one who fools the whole world.) He was thrown down to the earth. He and his angels were thrown out. These angels lost their place in heaven because they had the free will to follow God or the wicked angel Satan. And in Genesis 6:1 says { Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose}. By this passage it is clear that we will have a free will even in Heaven, to sin or not, but keep in mind that down here on earth the devil is constantly tempting us and influencing us to sin, in Heaven there will be no temptation, because the devil has been thrown out ,so if we sin in heaven we will have no excuse of the devil made me do it. I for one find it very exciting to read Revelation 19:14  because it describes the saints of God riding white horses following the Lord { The armies in heaven are following him on white horses. They are dressed in pure, white, fine linen. A sharp sword comes out of his mouth. He uses it to hit the nations. He will shepherd them with an iron rod. He will crush down of Almighty God's angry punishment in the winepress. He has this name written on his robe and on his thigh: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS}.  Praise be to the king of angels, the eternal one, our Lord, Master, Redeemer and forever reining King  Jesus Christ.
