What is the difference between Religious and Spiritual?
Can you be religious and spiritual? Of course you can. To truly walk the course God laid out for you it is mandatory for you to be spiritual. On the other hand religious means to follow a religion. It comes from the Greek word deisidaimonia, which means to be superstitious it also speaks in reverence for God. But it doesn't refer to which God. Hindus and Muslims are religious And as we all know they do not believe in the one and only true God. The Muslims believe Allah is God. The Hindus believe in many gods. But they only have one God, the supreme. Ganesha has become their most common God. Ganesha is their Lord of success, the son of Shiva and Parvati His also their God of Education, Knowledge, Wisdom and Wealth. The only reason I wrote so much more about Hindus then the Muslims is because I use to work for a Hindu family when I lived in California and she told me allot about their religion. So to be a true Christian you don't have to be religious but you need to be spiritual so you can walk the path that God has chosen for us. And when the path comes to a Y or branches off you need the Holy Spirit to guide you to choose and if you have a little doubt about the path to take use the Holy Spirit to guide you on what path Jesus would take.
John.
There Is A Lesson To Be learned
If I was to hold a $100 dollar bill in my hand
and offer to give it to you with no strings attached, would you want it? You bet you would want it. I know I would! But before I give it to you, I am going to crumple it
up. Now do you still want it? I think so, I would still want it. What if I was to drop it on the ground and grind it into the ground with my foot. Do you still want it? Again I think
you do. I know I would still want it, I don't care how crumpled up or dirty it is even if there are some rips in it, I would still want it. The lesson we learned is no matter what I do to the $100 dollar bill, you still want it because it did not decrease in value. It is still worth $100 dollars. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that comes our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. Dirty or clean, wrinkled, or perfectly smooth skin we are priceless to God. The price of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by who we are and whose we are. We are special, Don't ever forget it. Count your blessing and not your problems. Remember, amateurs built the Ark. But professionals built the Titanic. If God brings you to it, he will bring you through it. As long as we believe and have God in our hearts he will never steer us in the wrong direction in life.
Death
So many people think death means that when you die it's all over.
That's a lie so don't believe it. According to the Bible is translated from
Greek and Hebrew words meaning separation. Death is simply the
separation from the spirit and soul form the body. Death is not the
end. Death is merely a door that leads to one of two places, Heaven
where the goal is to end up there. The other is Hell. Spiritual death
results when you are separated from God, the source of all life. Spiritual
life results from in one that walks and live the life that God had planned
for us.
John
You are an eternal being. Death means a change ofresidence from this earth to either Heaven or Hell. What determines your destination is one thing and
only one thing, Your relationship with Jesus, God and the Holy spirit. (The Trinity)
